What The Future Held | Jungkook & Reader | BTS FF | Chapter 1 |

 Description:

Jungkook is a young adult that has lack of guidance and poor desire to live. Due to his mother's death, he suffers from depression and constant imaginary "encounters" with his mother. After many years of being in the dark, Jungkook finally begins to see the light when he decides to go out for the first time since he was discharged from his mental hospital.

Chapter 1

Night fell over the city.

As always, his curtains: shut.

His phone: off.

Hobbies: none.

Interests: nothing in the absolute.

Lights: dim or off.

Jeon Jungkook laid in his bed staring at the dark ceiling. While his friends were out in college parties, he was in his studio apartment staring up at a dusty and plain ceiling. Everyone having the best young adulthood moments of their lives and him…

In his bedroom repeating the same scene from the day before.

Ever since he was in secondary school, Jungkook was always the isolated one from his friends. If they were gathering for lunch, he wouldn’t show up and instead head for the rooftop. If there was going to be a dance at school, he would stay at home and sleep early.

When the girls at school approached him to confess their feelings to him, he wouldn’t look at them twice before walking past them. They wouldn’t commit the same mistake twice the next time for sure.

Many wondered why Jeon Jungkook was like that. Sometimes, his own friends wondered why he was like that as well. The only reason Jungkook even had friends was because the only hobby that he had ever had in his life was to play videogames, but that passion, too, dried up and flew away.

He stood from his bed and walked towards his balcony. Moving the dark curtain aside, he stepped outside into the fresh air. The city was as busy as ever. Every light twinkling like a star. Jungkook sighed enervated. He looked over the rail of his balcony and down at the fast-moving cars on the street that was in front of his apartment building. A tear slipped out of his eye.

“A-Appear.” He said with a shuttering voice. A cold melancholy air surrounded him.

“App…” Jungkook slowly capitulated on his knees. His forehead against the cold rail.

Jungkook was alone because he was under the impression that being alone was the only way he could see his mother. He didn’t know if they were hallucinations or if his mother really appeared.

His mother had died due to a very lethal case of anemia. One day his mother’s body wasn’t pumping enough blood for her entire body to function leading to her death.

That was the reason Jungkook was lonely.

That was the reason he avoided the real life.

To attempt and greet what was his life.

Jungkook opened his eyes as his head hung down. His forehead still against the rail. Two drops of blood dripped down and landed on the balcony floor. He frowned and with a shaky hand, he slowly tapped his nostrils. His finger pad was coated with fresh blood as he pulled it back. Jungkook shook his head and immediately took off his shirt off and pressed it against his nose.

“Jungkook,” Jungkook’s eyes widen at the sudden whisper. Every trace of sorrow immediately vanishing from the air.

He slowly turned his head and met his mother’s honey glowing eyes.

“M-Mom…” His voice cracking towards the end. Her arms opened for Jungkook’s embrace. Jungkook slowly stood and walked towards her. He wrapped his arms merrily around her. Her scent so bright and fruity. Just like he remembered it.

“Why are you sitting so sadly on the floor?”

“Bogo shipda (I miss you)…” He whispered agonizingly.

“Jungkook-ah, I’m always with you.”

His eyelashes pressed harder letting his tears stream down the beds of his cheeks.

“M-Mom…”

“Sleep.” She said with a lullaby voice.

Jungkook slowly became heavy eyed. Her chest was comforting. It was impossible not to fall peacefully asleep on his mother’s arms, once again.
