Chapter 1
The bell rang for the last class of the day. Y/n immediately shoved all her books in her bag and hurried to her next class, which happened to be across school.
“I really hate Gym.” She muttered to herself as she sprinted across the hallways.
When she arrived at the girls’ locker room, everything fell quiet and all eyes were on her. All sorts of looks and eyes faced her. Being used to it, y/n shrugged it off and made her way to her locker.
Although y/n was a bright and smiling girl every day of her life, she was probably the most bullied girl of her grade, and even the school as a whole.
Ever since she could remember, y/n had always been a target of laughter, gossip, and bullying. And it was all because she lived in a junkyard. That was her parent’s business. Owning a junkyard.
But when y/n was in primary school, someone made a rumor that she had lice, which was false, everything broke off from there.
Ever since then, names such as “Junky”, “Dirty Iron”, “Junkyard”, “Stinky”, “Dirty Dirty” were created for her.
Nobody chose their Gym locker’s close to hers giving y/n the advantage to take as many lockers as she wanted.
That was probably one of the few advantages being called Junkyard offered.
“Alright girls! Start on your ten-minute warm up.” Their coach announced making everyone form their own circles.
Like always, y/n stretched on her own. But no matter how far away the circles of the other girls were, they always made sure y/n could listen to every word they said.
“Our graduation dance is coming soon. I wonder who Junkyard will be going with? Who? An old fridge?” One of the girls said making all her surrounding friends laugh at her comment.
Y/n shook her head and tried to concentrate on her warm-up.
Don’t listen, y/n. They just want your attention. Don’t give in.
Gym class came to an end. It was finally the end of the day. Y/n gathered her stuff and made her way out of the locker room. As she walked to the exit, she saw that a group of girls gathered before the exit blocking her way. Y/n stopped walking as they all turned to face her.
Y/n sighed and tried to maintain her peace. Their coach had killed them with an ab workout that would leave them sore for days, but it seemed the girls before her still had energy to bother her.
“Can you girls please move? I need to leave.” They all exchanged looks and laughed. Y/n frowned.
“I didn’t ask for you guys to laugh. I asked for you guys to move. So please, move aside. There’s people that want to leave home.”
“Oh, you mean your junkyard?” The one at the very front said. Y/n realized who it was and rolled her eyes.
It was Chin-Sun. Her #1 bully.
“Yes. I mean my junkyard. So, can you please move?” Y/n said still calmly. It had been eighteen years of Chin-Su humiliating her. She sure knew the inside and outside of bullying.
And the number one thing a victim shouldn’t do when being bullied, is to give the bully satisfaction.
Chin-Su laughed.
“Good lord. Look at those clothes, didn’t you wear those yesterday?” The rest of the girls behind her laughed.
Y/n looked down at her clothes and licked her lips. Those were the only pair of sweatpants she had left. All of them had been destroyed by the girls in the locker room.
Constantly, they would steal, mistreat, and trash her stuff. For that very reason, y/n now had one pair of work out sweatpants.
Y/n looked up to Chin-Su. Her eyes stern.
“I’m glad you noticed, Chin-Su. Because thanks to you, I only have these left. Wait. I’m not giving enough credit to the rest of you. Thanks to all of you, I only have these.”
“Well, Junky, they were horrible. They made you look even more hideous. Even I thought that couldn’t be possible but clearly it is.” Chin-Su said making all her friends bust out laughing loudly. Y/n grinned at her remark.
“Chin-Su,” y/n said walking closer to her,” how can you be talking about horrible when the only horrible people here are you and your gang of scumbags? You take away what little I have, and you disapprove it.” Chin-Su looked at y/n as if she was standing on top of a stinky trash can.
“A little word of advice, Chin-Su. If you really don’t like what I wear, then give me money and I’ll take care of the rest. No? That’s what I thought. Shut your trap.”
Y/n pushed past the group of girls and finally made it out of the suffocating locker room. With a heavy gulp, she swallowed her hot tears down. Another day of being Junkyard done.
